Belgian Shepherd Dog Eva Saves Her Owner From Attack By Mountain Lion

We all know that Belgian shepherd dogs are brave, highly intelligent and loyal, but even such brilliant dogs never cease to amaze us! Eva, the two-year-old Belgian girl, shows us a whole new level of loyalty with her heroic response to a mountain lion attacking her owner during a hike.

Eva unhesitatingly put her life on the line and proved once again that dogs are the best pets we can have!

Without hesitation, Eva jumped in to save Erin

When Erin Wilson went hiking with her family dog Eva along the Trinity River in northwestern California, she could never have imagined that she would be up against a mountain lion!

The wild beast jumped in front of her and scratched her shoulder. She instinctively screamed in terror and at that moment her faithful Belgian Malinois Shepherd Eva came to the rescue!

Eva bravely jumped on the mountain lion despite the fact that the wild animal was twice her size. The two struggled while Erin grabbed a tire lever to help Eva. She began beating the predator with it, but all seemed a lost cause.

The animal latched onto Eva's head and pierced her skull with long, sharp teeth. Fortunately, a few passing motorists came to the rescue and expelled the mountain lion with pepper spray.

Severely injured on her skull

Eva was seriously injured and she was covered in blood. She had convulsions on the ride to the hospital due to skull fractures and a punctured sinus cavity. This brave dog had been seriously injured during the fight and her life was in danger.

She was admitted to Hospital in the Shasta Cascade region of Northern California. Eva, a strong dog, somehow got through it. Still, she needed a long recovery, so Erin started a fundraiser to cover medical expenses for her heroic girl.

Eva was heavily sedated for several days because the pressure in her skull was still high and the swelling around her eyes obstructed her vision.

After the medical treatment, Eva was doing better for a while. She came home and began performing her normal activities. She even went for regular walks with Erin and showed no sign of weakness.

The heroic girl has passed away, but her memory lives on

But then something happened that Erin feared! During the night, Eva suddenly had strokes and her condition worsened.

She fell into a deep coma and did not respond to any stimulus. Unfortunately, her body was too weak to fight the battle and a few hours later Eva died.

Erin was devastated when she realized her brave girl was no more.

Despite her sudden death, Eva will forever be remembered for her courage. She was Erin's guardian angel who saved her life in every way possible. You will be remembered, good girl! 💔
