Linda and Brenda are two pit bull dogs found on the streets of Minneapolis.

They had no home, but they had each other.

The folks at Minneapolis Animal Care & Control brought them to the shelter and placed them in separate kennels next to each other.

But Linda and Brenda didn't like being separated.

Brenda's big jump

One day the shelter workers were surprised to find Brenda in Linda's kennel.

They watched the security video and saw something amazing.

Brenda had jumped over the high kennel wall to be with Linda!

Staying together forever

After seeing how much Linda and Brenda loved each other, the shelter staff knew they had to keep them together.

They found a larger kennel where the two dogs could stay side by side.

Joerger explained: "When we saw the footage of Brenda jumping over her kennel to be with Linda, our staff saw what we recognize in our animals every day - their need for connection and to feel loved."

As Linda and Brenda turned to shelter life, everyone discovered how special they were.

Brenda likes to play and make friends with other dogs, while Linda feels happy and calm when she is with Brenda.

Both dogs love to run and play together.

The shelter staff knew Linda and Brenda needed to find a home together.

They could not be separated.

Many people saw the video of Brenda's big jump online and hoped someone would adopt both dogs.

And guess what? A kind woman saw Linda and Brenda and knew she wanted to give them a forever home - together!

Joerger and everyone at the shelter were overjoyed.

"We are extremely happy that they can remain lifelong friends," Joerger said.

Now Linda and Brenda will always be together, just as they should be.
