Dog broken after family surrenders him to shelter because of allergy 1

Simba, a sweet dog, does not understand why he ended up all alone in the shelter, because he is such a sweet boy.

He gets along well with other dogs and loves people.

Unfortunately, after four years, he was relinquished by the only family he ever knew.

Someone in the family developed allergies and they made the difficult decision to take Simba to Humane Society of Broward County in Fort Lauderdale, in Florida.

The sweet little dog was left there sad and confused.

The shelter posted a video on TikTok to share its story.

@humanebroward Those eyes 🥺🙏 Big-boy Simba lived with his family his whole life, until one day his world got turned upside down. After four years, someone in his family became allergic and he was brought to the shelter. He doesn’t understand why? 💔 Now, he gets separation anxiety and cries when he’s alone. He loves people and even lived with another dog previously that he loved ❤️ #fyp #foryou #foryoupage #dog #dogsoftiktok #dogvideos #rescuedog #shelterdog #adoptme #adoption #florida #fortlauderdale #dogs ♬ original sound - Humane Society Broward County

In the video, they said, "He doesn't understand why? Now he gets separation anxiety and cries when he's alone."

Many people saw the video and nearly a million hearts were touched by the story.

People on TikTok responded to the video about how they could never part with their pets because of allergies.

Someone said, "Heartbreaking. I would sooner take allergy medication than ever consider getting rid of my darlings. I hope this sweet boy finds a forever home."

The good news came quickly. Within 24 hours of the TikTok video, Simba found a new loving home.

His new mom, Megan, happily shared, "We adopted him today! He is a treasure!"

Megan even posted a photo of Simba's "freedom ride," showing how happy he was to leave the shelter and head for his new home.

Simba is now one of the lucky ones.

He found a family that loves him in no time.

But not all dogs are so lucky. Many great dogs in shelters wait months for someone to adopt them.

As we celebrate Simba's new beginning, let's not forget the other dogs and cats waiting at the shelter for their special someone.
