Dog On Chain Begs Rescuers Not To Take Away Her Little Puppy
Unfortunately, many dogs are also suffering in war-ravaged Ukraine.
The rescue organization "Love Furry Friends" was recently called in because of a serious case.
This story is about a little dog named Busia.
Busia, a small mixed-breed dog, lived in a run-down place in Ukraine.
The rescue organization Love Furry Friends found her there.
A neighbor told them about Busia and the difficult conditions in which she lived.
The rescue mission
The rescue team saw the mess in which Busia lived - broken panels, doors and piled fences.
Sergey, the neighbor who had informed them about the dog, helped them when they got there.
He called the neighbor to ask permission to enter the property and take the dog.
The neighbor contacted him and said they would just hand over the dog when they returned tomorrow.
A surprising discovery
When rescuers met Busia the next day, they discovered she had a puppy.
Unfortunately, the puppy was the only surviving pup from a litter of four.
His 3 sisters had drowned for unknown reasons.
They came to rescue Busia, but had to change their plan slightly to take the little one with them.
Moreover, she would never let her and the puppy, whom they named "Buddy," be separated.
When one of the rescuers held the puppy, Busia started crying because she thought they were taking him from her.
Don't worry, Busia. That's not going to happen.
Busia was only 2 years old and had seen things most dogs would never experience in their entire lives.
A check-up at the veterinarian's office
Love Furry Friends took Busia and Buddy to the vet.
Despite their difficult start, Buddy was healthy for his age, about 1.5 months old.
The veterinarian also spayed Busia to prevent future pregnancies.
With how small she is, she may not have the energy to carry more puppies in the future.
Buddy won't have any more siblings, and maybe that's for the best.
A new beginning
After a bath and some grooming, Busia and Buddy were like new dogs.
They were given soft beds, taken walks in the park and given a chance at a happy life - all thanks to the kind people at Love Furry Friends.
