Dog Risks His Life And Jumps Into The Water To Save A Drowning Cat
They are sometimes called "archenemies," but the truth is that dogs and cats are not as great rivals as you might think.
More and more of them live together under one roof, and research shows that more than 60% of dog families and their cat buddies simply sleep side by side and play together.
One such sweet interaction was captured on video, showing a dog's heartwarming action when his cat buddy falls into the water. This dog sees the cat in trouble and does the most wonderful thing ever!
He first tries to pull her out from the shore
The video shows a half-submerged cat in the water, fighting for her life, clinging to an object with everything she had at the time. She was visibly terrified and in a state of shock as she tried to figure out how to get out.
But then a dog appears along the side of what appears to be a pond. He offers his help and tries to get his cat buddy out!
At first he tries to pull her out with his jaw, but once he understands that is not possible, he jumps into the water, oblivious to the potential danger!
Diving into the water, not realizing the danger of it
Before you know it, he's in the water, paddling with his cat buddy on his back, looking for a way out. He practically risked his own life to save a friend in need, breaking the fable that cats and dogs are sworn enemies.
In just a few moments, he successfully reached the shore and managed to get out of the water with the cat.
For a moment you can see that the cat is still in shock, trying to understand what just happened. But soon she is all right again and jumps off the wall of the fish pond as if nothing happened!
A successful rescue operation
This amazing rescue was recorded and quickly went around on social media and melted the hearts of millions of people around the world!
People were happy to see a kind dog doing its best to help the cat who needed help, but some wondered why the person filming it did not intervene to save the animals.
Anyway, this cat was finally on safe ground, all thanks to a beautiful act of friendship from a dog who instinctively went for it! Was he a well-trained dog with highly developed social skills, or was it just his primal instinct? It doesn't really matter!
All that matters is that both the dog and the cat are out of danger. And I have no doubt they are still friends too!
