Driver Stops When He Sees A Dog Running Straight Through Heavy Traffic, Begging For Help
A driver on his way to work in Miami, Florida, suddenly had to stop after a fluffy critter ran right through heavy traffic.
When he looked more closely, he realized it was a lone dog begging to be rescued.
Hoping people would help her, the frightened pup approached every car and begged for help.
Unfortunately, she was ignored every time she approached a car.
No one wanted to stop and help her.
The driver, deeply saddened when he saw this, immediately stopped and rushed to help the poor dog.
After getting Olivia to safety, he took her to Miami-Dade Animal Services.
Rosa Fond, founder of Humans and Animals United, a volunteer animal rescue organization, was deeply moved by Olivia's plight after seeing the video.
"We don't know how long she waited out there to be rescued. A defenseless dog who doesn't speak our language and asks for help the only way she knows how: by stepping on cars," Rosa Fond said.
The rescue plan
Fond and her team quickly devised a plan to rescue the dog, now named Olivia, from her predicament.
She sent someone to the Miami-Dade shelter to meet Olivia. They took a picture of the beautiful dog and sent it to Fond.
The heartwarming photo of the puppy, with her tongue stuck out and looking sad, broke Fond's heart.
The rescue team member took Olivia, not knowing that her life was about to change.
A new beginning in a foster home
The next day, Olivia was placed in a wonderful foster home and left the uncertainty of the streets behind.
That night she slept in a warm bed and felt safe and cared for. Olivia visited the vet and received treatments for her skin condition and kennel cough.
A blossoming friendship
Olivia was showered with love and began to blossom into a happy dog.
Her wide smile charmed her foster family, who described her as a charming dog who talked back to them.
Olivia loves watching TV and hanging out with her foster siblings.
A bright future ahead
With the love and care Olivia receives, it is only a matter of time before she finds her permanent family.
This story reminds us not to ignore the pleas of our faithful friends, for they believe in us to help them.
The heroic driver who stopped and pulled Olivia to safety is greatly appreciated for his compassion.
