Jogger Hears Desperate Barking In Forest And Decides To Do Something
When we come across stories like Llana's, we keep asking ourselves, Why would anyone do this to a dog?
The low point was reached when a ruthless person tied her up in a wooded area near the Bronx River Parkway in New York.
She was left with only a two-meter chain and no one around to help her.
All alone and terrified, the dog lived her life in fear, until one day a jogger with a good heart stopped to help!
Lonely days
Llana was left deep in the woods, tied to a tree with only a short chain.
She lived in constant fear, alone and no one to help her.
But one night, a big-hearted jogger heard her desperate barking and decided to do something.
The discovery of the jogger
In the darkness of the forest, the jogger could not ignore the cries for help.
He returned the next morning and discovered Llana, frightened and chained to a tree.
He quickly contacted Craig Fields of the New York Bully Crew, a rescue organization with a heart for animals in need.
"A jogger running through there the night before heard barking and went back the next day to find our special girl in the dense woods. She was so scared and confused and behaved aggressively as a result. Who can blame her," NYBC wrote.
The rescue
Llana, initially scared and defensive, got the help of Craig.
With calmness and kindness, he offered her food and waited patiently for her to trust him.
With a belt around her head, Llana took her first steps toward a new life.
A new beginning
In the weeks that followed, Llana turned from a frightened dog into a big cuddly animal.
With the support of Craig and the NYBC team, she learned to trust people again.
Her initial fear lessened and turned into a renewed joy that warmed everyone's hearts.
Llana only needed a few weeks to turn into a brand new dog.
Together with Craig, she quickly became accustomed to living with people and allowed her true self to blossom.
Finding a new home
Llana's dream came true when a family adopted her.
She spent weeks getting to know her and ensuring a smooth transition.
In her new home, Llana found not only warmth, but also a little brother Ruckus and a beautiful sister Tea.
"Llana's family is so devoted to her that they have spent weeks getting to know her, spent time in the NYBC facility, made effort with their dog before introducing them and continue to make effort and responsibility," NYBC wrote on their Facebook.
Daily adventures
Now Llana spends every moment with her new family, playing, eating and taking wonderful naps.
Her family lovingly shares their home, giving Llana a new adventure every day.
"We come home and they have their crazy wiggly asses and just cuddle on our laps every time we sit down," Llana's owners wrote on Instagram.
In her new home surrounded by loved ones, Llana's heartwarming story reminds us that every animal deserves a chance to shine.
