Little Chihuahua, Who Cried Herself to Sleep, Saved from Euthanasia at Last Minute
Abandoned dogs and overcrowded shelters are increasingly appearing in the media.
Despite many experts and "animal lovers" constantly calling attention to this growing problem, many people seem to be unaware of it.
One of these people is the owner of a one-year-old dog who suddenly decided she no longer needed her pet.
Her owner left her at a shelter without even saying hello.
Imagine a sweet little puppy with a broken heart and left crying in a place she didn't know.
A confused puppy
The volunteers at the Carson Animal Shelter saw her heart filled with sorrow.
She could not even move from where she had been left.
In an attempt to comfort her somewhat, they dressed her in a pink sweater, but even that did not stop her from crying every night.
"The little chihuahua was so confused and broken with grief," Saving Carson Shelter Dogs says.
A call on Facebook
The volunteers realized the shelter was overcrowded and knew they had to act quickly to prevent her from being euthanized.
A volunteer got the idea to share a video of the crying dog on the shelter' s Facebook page, hoping to touch hearts and make a difference.
"The video melted the hearts of many who saw it on the shelter's official Facebook page," says Saving Carson Shelter Dogs.
Saved in the nick of time
It wasn't long before a kind woman saw the post and contacted a friend who was interested in adopting a dog.
The moment her friend saw the video, she immediately decided to give the little Chihuahua a warm home and save her life.
A new beginning in Missouri
Now the once sad Chihuahua lives happily in Missouri with owners who love her.
After all she has been through, this little Chihuahua deserves a life full of happiness.
Enduring challenge
Although our Chihuahua has found her happy ending, many shelters are still struggling with overcrowding.
Saving Carson Shelter Dogs and others like Saving Carson urge people to help and open their hearts to these sweet little ones.
"So don't hesitate, if you are able, open your heart to these sweet little ones, because sometimes a simple act of yours can save a life," said Saving Carson Shelter Dogs.
