Pitbull Paralyzed By Fear Experiences Love For The First Time
Not all dogs begin their lives in a warm and safe home.
Some dogs face tough challenges that make their lives difficult.
This is the story of Bruno, an 8-year-old Pit Bull, who had a rough start in life.
He was not a happy dog and was full of fear. Bruno lived in a small pen and was so scared he couldn't even move.
This is his story.
A sad beginning
Bruno was not a happy dog. He was eight years old and had been through a lot.
He was a Pit Bull, but he didn't behave that way. He was very afraid, especially of people.
One day, Bruno was found by a rescue group from Culver City, Calif.
Trapped in a small cage measuring three feet by three feet, he was unable to move.
He was paralyzed with fear. The team also found another dog named Boris.
The rescue team took Bruno to the veterinarian for a checkup.
Then they found someone special to take care of him.
Her name was Angela Adan. Angela specializes in canine rehabilitation and she has helped hundreds of dogs heal from trauma and begin a new path in their lives
Step by step
Angela knew Bruno needed time. He was too scared to move on his own.
So she put him on a big blanket and dragged him, because Bruno was a heavy dog.
Angela was very sweet to Bruno. She knew that love was the best way to help him.
Slowly, Bruno began to change. He began to accept food from Angela's hand.
"This poor boy has suffered in silence for so long, but not anymore. He is now receiving medication and we are already noticing a difference" wrote the rescue group.
He took short walks with her. He even allowed himself to be leashed by her.
These were signs that he was doing better.
A big change
After two months of hard work, something extraordinary happened. Bruno came to Angela by himself.
He was looking for hugs. This showed that he was changing into a completely different dog.
"This is the Bruno I knew existed all along under all that fear. I knew I would find him if we gave him some time and patience. I love this dog so much. He amazes me every day with his progress," Angela wrote on her Instagram.
A loving family
Bruno didn't have to wait long for a new family. Carla and Geoff, a wonderful couple from California, fell in love with him.
They knew he was the dog they wanted.
"Friends, the news you've all been waiting for! Bruno has been adopted by an amazing couple and is living a dream. It is truly incredible that this dog who was so neglected is finally getting a chance at a great life," the rescue group wrote.
After all the setbacks, Bruno finally got his long and happy life.
He was loved and cared for. He was now a different dog.
He knew what love felt like and he was happy.
