There is perhaps nothing worse than a little puppy alone and without a home.

Yet somehow it is a recurring theme that so many dogs in the world are abandoned or lost.

According to the World Animal Foundation, there are about 200 million stray dogs in the world. Although this number is an estimate and the number of stray dogs is probably much higher, it is still quite alarming.

Alone and anxious

This poor puppy was found by two women, all alone, in the middle of the road, sleeping, and was almost trampled by passersby.

Just by looking at her, it was obvious that she was malnourished and weak. Her skin was dry and infected, and there was a chance it could develop into a serious mange infection.

She was immediately rushed to a veterinarian for a complete examination and treatment.

Fortunately, the vets determined that her condition was not too serious and that she would recover within a few weeks.

The veterinarians decided to keep her in the clinic until she recovered.

Quick recovery

After just one day, she began to feel better. She has a decent appetite and enjoys playing in the garden.

She also went to stay with other stray dogs at the clinic and slowly made new friends.

Soon after, she was taken to a shelter where she was waiting for someone to take her to a new and loving home. Given her cute and playful nature, it is not surprising that she has already found a new owner in the meantime.

Despite the fact that the statistics on stray dogs are quite dire and can give many people the impression that nothing is being done to help dogs, it is people like these who really make a difference.

As long as you have a good heart, that's all it takes, because any small gesture you can do for a tiny, helpless puppy can already help.
