Puppy Dumped With Chair And Tv Waits For His Owners Who Are Not Coming Back
Once dogs come into our home, they form our family. We give them love, care and security. Everything they need to thrive.
It is deeply sad that there are so many owners who abandon their dogs and violate their trust.
La-Z-Boy is one of the abandoned dogs who kept waiting for his owners, not knowing they would never return.
Abandoned and alone
In June 2019, dog La-Z-Boy was abandoned on a lawn chair along Gatson Road.
A small puppy, hungry and weak, sitting next to a TV left out in the open.
Animal Control Officer Sharon Norton found the puppy and said, "He was very happy when I picked him up and carried him to the Animal Control truck. I felt his tail wagging against my back. He knows he is safe now."
Sharon brought La-Z-Boy to the Brookhaven City Shelter, where he was given a hot bath and treated for ringworm.
Despite his difficult start, La-Z-Boy's courage remained strong.
Restoring trust
With her kind heart, Norton fed and comforted little La-Z-Boy .
Slowly, the little pup began to regain confidence.
"He looked so cute and sad," said Dave Trammell, who later adopted him.
A new name and a bright future
La-Z-Boy got its new name, inspired by the chair and the street where it was found.
Despite his difficult past, La-Z-Boy turned out to be a sociable and friendly puppy.
He loved playing in the water and spending time with other dogs.
A forever home
After his recovery, La-Z-Boy went to a foster home, hoping for a loving family. And luck was on his side!
In July 2019, he found his forever home in Plymouth, Michigan, with Dave Trammell and Sommer Guy.
Dave Trammell shared, " The way he looked just touched me."
"I think he just wanted a home. You could tell he really appreciated it when we got here," Trammell added.
La-Z-Boy quickly adjusted to his new life, enjoying car rides with his canine sister Penelope and sleeping with his belly up.
La-Z-Boy now lives happily in Michigan, surrounded by the warmth of a family that traveled more than 15 hours to bring him home.
