Puppy With Deformed Leg Rejected By His Mother Turns Out To Be A Real Sweetheart
When things get tough, try to keep it positive, just like puppy Flipflop did!
Bosley's Place, a rescue organization in Georgia, shared Flipflop's story.
Even though he was disowned by his mother for being different, he did not give up.
He fought hard and got better.
And then something wonderful happened!
A difficult beginning
When Flipflop was only a few days old, he was on his own when his mother disowned him.
Because of his deformed foreleg, he was on the edge of life, fighting for every breath.
But Flipflop did not give up.
A helping hand
Fortunately, a group of kind people from Bosley's Place took him in.
They decided to give him a chance at a better life. With their love and care, Flipflop began to flourish.
He started getting used to the bottle in no time and started gaining weight every day.
"Aside from the obvious deformity of his left front leg, he seems very healthy and has a great appetite," said the team at Bosley's Place.
As the weeks passed, Flipflop grew stronger.
Despite his deformity, he was healthy and full of life.
He made friends with other dogs at the rescue center and charmed everyone with his sweet personality.
A difficult decision
Flipflop's caretakers, however, were left with a question.
Did they have to amputate his deformed leg to prevent future problems such as infection?
It was a difficult decision.
But according to the vet, Flipflop did not need surgery.
"He's walking around fine, he's not bothered by it and because he's not a dog over 50 pounds, he's not dragging it around and there's no risk of infection, so.... He gets to keep the paw," BP wrote on Facebook.
A new home
Finally the day came when Flipflop found his new home. Nikki and her family, who are all dog lovers, welcomed him with open arms.
They adopted not only Flipflop, but also two other dogs with special needs, Griff and Henry.
"He has an amazing family, truly incredible.... They not only adopted Flipflop, who is now named Butters, but also TWO of our other special needs puppies, Griff and Henry," BP wrote.
Flipflop, now called Butters, lives happily with his new family.
Despite his difficult start, he has found a place where he belongs and makes every day an adventure full of love and joy.
