Rescuers discover dog on frozen ground moments before it's too late 1

Some dogs don't know a good start in life.

These quadrupeds are left to their own devices and must fight for their lives in terrible conditions.

Keanu suffered the same fate when he was cruelly dumped in the woods and left there.

All alone, without food and water, he faced his inevitable fate in freezing weather.

The low point had been reached and he had completely given up, until a few kind people found him and changed his life forever!

The discovery of Keanu

One day, two sweet people Ne La and Adrian discovered him.

He lay weak and motionless on the ground and had almost given up hope.

They knew they had to help him, so they contacted a rescue group called 1 Dog At A Time Rescue.

"It took several hours before he started responding. At first, he could barely lift his head," said Jayne, one of the rescue group's co-founders.

On the way to the vet, Keanu lay in the car and relied on humanity.

He had no other choice, for his energy was completely gone.

A second chance

Once he arrived at the clinic, Keanu was immediately put on an IV.

A few hours later, he responded for the first time.

He slowly opened his eyes and began to lick his rescuers' hand, as if to say "Thank you!" in his own way.

That sweet, friendly first look made everyone at the shelter fall in love with him immediately!

"Everyone who met him fell in love with him. Just very gentle. Very, very gentle," Jayne said.

The road to recovery

For the first week, Keanu did not move at all.

His bowl was next to him and he continued to eat and drink until a few days later the first signs of progress were visible!

He managed to get to his feet and slowly walk a few steps.

It was truly a heartwarming moment to finally see Keanu move.

And when he was finally outside, his recovery took a drastic turn.

Within a few weeks, Keanu recovered significantly. He made friends with other dogs and learned to play again.

"He is such a gentle boy and is so relaxed with all our other dogs. He is very much on his own and likes nothing better than to lay outside under a tree and just be," the rescue organization shared.

Everyone could see in his eyes how happy and grateful he was to have been given a second chance.

And now he was finally ready to give back all the love he had received during his recovery!

"He's one of those dogs you only meet once in a lifetime. He's a very special dog," Jayne said.

A new beginning

Finally, Keanu found a loving family he can call his own. He now enjoys endless days full of adventure and love.

With his previous challenges behind him, Keanu embraces each day with joy and gratitude, knowing he is cherished and loved.
