It is truly heartbreaking how cruel some dog owners can be toward their sweet dogs.

Instead of giving them love and affection, they dump their dog without feeling the slightest pity.

This story is about Malea, a sweet dog who was also dumped.

She was left in a scorching hot dumpster and the lid closed without caring what happened to her next.

The sweet dog hoped for kind-hearted people who would rescue her and give her the love she so desperately needed.

Call for help

A kind man witnessed the terrible scene and could not bear to see her suffer.

Without hesitation, he called Stray Rescue of St. Louis, seeking help for the abandoned pup.

"It was so hot inside; we're thankful she didn't pass out" shared Stray Rescue Louis on their Facebook, expressing their relief that Malea did not spend too long in the container.

Quick action by rescuers

Donna Lochmann, the Chief Life-Saving Officer, and the rescue team rushed to the scene.

When they opened the container, they saw Malea - a sweet dog with a wagging tail and hopeful eyes.

The rescuers were relieved that the dog was okay.

"We tried to hold back our tears, but we were really moved," the rescuers recounted.

Donna, acting very gently, jumped into the container, calmed Malea and took her into protection.

The rescue team brought her to the shelter and Malea, grateful for her heroes, showered them with kisses and affection.

"You are not trash. Your life is important," Donna Malea reassured as she hugged her.

An unexpected rescue mission

While on their way to the shelter, rescuers received another call: two puppies in dire need of help abandoned in a downtown parking lot.

Without hesitation, the team rushed to rescue the duo.

Reception and foster care

Because the shelter was full, the puppies found solace in a foster home while Malea participated in the shelter's Rovernight program.

This program is designed for people who want to have a dog in their home for a few days.

Natalie Thomson, the shelter's director of marketing, said, "She is now in a loving home and being spoiled!"

Malea and the two puppies are now looking for a golden basket.

Natalie is confident that these puppies will find families who will cherish and love them.

Malea's story reminds us again how important it is to take action when we see an animal in need of help.

One call to a rescue organization or a local shelter can save a precious life.

We are incredibly grateful to the man who contacted the shelter after seeing Malea being put in a dumpster.

Thanks to him, Malea was saved in time.
