Despite the fact that there are countless dogs waiting for their better future, there are stories that restore your faith in humanity. This is one such story...

When a Great Dane puppy, Angelo, was found on the street, he was practically a lost cause. This poor boy was severely malnourished and unable to stand on his feet.

But then a wonderful thing happened! A woman who volunteers to rescue stray dogs offered to help. Still, Angelo's case was not easy, as he still needed serious medical attention.

Angelo was about to die

The reason why this Great Dane barely moved appeared to be the stones in his stomach. Unfortunately, Angelo was so malnourished and starving that he ate stones to stay alive.

His belly was full of stones and therefore he could not eat or defecate when he was brought to the shelter. This was a life-threatening condition and he needed immediate surgery, but even then this Great Dane's future was not guaranteed.

How Hanan and her organization rescue Angelo

Hanan, a volunteer with the Furever Rescue Foster organization, did everything she could to help Angelo survive. The surgery was expensive and it required a serious recovery process afterwards, so she decided to seek help through social media.

Justin Finning and his wife Deborah saw the photo of this poor boy, and although it was far from their home, they did everything they could to help this dog.

Justin, Deborah and Angelo were meant for each other

This was not the first Great Dane Justin and Deborah decided to rescue.

This couple has more than 30 years of experience rescuing and caring for Great Danes with disabilities. When they heard about Angelo's case, they immediately knew they wanted to participate in saving Angelo's life.

But the problem was that Angelo was in another country. He could not fly until the surgery was performed. Together with Hanan, this couple started a fundraiser to raise the money needed for Angelo's treatment.

In addition to the initial surgery, he needed physio and hydrotherapy, plus a specialized diet, which was extremely expensive.

Fortunately, the lovely couple succeeded in this wonderful mission and Angelo got the help he so desperately needed.

The surgery went successfully and now this boy needed some time to get back on his feet before flying to his new home. When the time finally came, Hanan wrote on her Facebook:

"Finally Angelo is home and he is so happy and enjoying his life. Justin Finning and Deborah Noakes thank you so much for sponsoring him and taking him into your little paradise."

A happy boy in his new home

Justin and Deborah were determined to help Angelo make a full recovery. They regularly took him to his therapy sessions and after a few months, this beautiful boy had finally fully recovered.

He is no longer a shy, reserved dog, but a happy, energetic Great Dane who loves to be the center of attention. He runs, plays in his new, spacious backyard and goes to the beach with his family!

But his favorite part of his new life is definitely his new roommates.

Yet the favorite part of his new life is definitely his new housemates. He lives with three other dogs and enjoys life to the fullest. I wish him a long, happy life full of love and new adventures. He certainly deserves that!
