Zwerfhond volgt een man naar huis en krijgt een gelukkig einde 1

One sunny day, a man got off the bus.

He saw a dog waiting at the bus stop.

A dog named Orville sat patiently as if waiting for someone.

The man greeted Orville, gave him a few caresses and went home.

But soon he sensed that something strange was going on.

He felt like someone was watching him!

When he turned around, Orville was standing in his front yard. Orville had followed him all the way home!

A new friendship

Orville showed no fear. The man invited him into the garden. It was clear Orville needed help. So the man called Stray Rescue of St. Louis (SRSL) for help.

Donna and Natalie from SRSL arrived on the scene. They expected Orville to be scared, but he surprised them with a big smile.

"He was a real sweetheart right away," Donna said. "We were able to leash him right away and he went right along with us."

Orville jumped into the SRSL Jeep with a happy heart.

"He rode most of the way back next to Natalie and me," Lochmann said. "He was just a happy guy."

At SRSL's animal hospital, Orville greeted everyone with a big smile. He was happy to meet new friends.

The vet's staff helped Orville clean his wounds and prepared a comfortable kennel for him. Orville was a healthy three-year-old Pitbull. SRSL knew he would soon be ready for a loving family.

A good ending

Orville's story has a happy ending. After a prosperous recovery, Orville waited for someone to adopt him. On June 10, that finally happened. Orville was given a golden basket with a new mom, dad and a little brother!

Orville's story reminds us that even street dogs like him can find love and a family thanks to kind-hearted people and rescue organizations like SRSL.

Donna said, "He was a super friendly and very rewarding dog from the beginning.
