Stray dog grabs hand of rescuer and her eyes plead for help 1

When the shelter heard of a dog who had been wandering the streets alone for a few months, they immediately started looking for her.

They were shocked when they found the dog and saw how bad off she was.

She was weak and in need and desperately needed their help.

A lone pup in need

When rescuers found Zhuzha, they were shocked by her poor health.

She seemed to be an older dog.

Her belly was swollen and she was weak and desperately needed help.

Locals said Zhuzha had been spayed through the city's spay/neuter program, so pregnancy was not the cause of her swollen belly.

Despite her difficulties, Zhuzha bravely extended her paw to the rescuers, as if asking for help.

A race against the clock

Rescuers quickly realized that Zhuzha needed urgent medical attention, and they put her in a blanket-like carrier and rushed her to the veterinarian.

As it turned out, Zhuzha was just two years old.

She had parasites and a heart problem, which caused fluid to accumulate in her abdomen.

In a race against time, the veterinarian drained the fluid to save Zhuzha's life.

Small steps to recovery

Ten days later, Zhuzha began to feel better.

She went for a walk and even enjoyed a tasty treat.

But her road to recovery was far from over.

It would be another four weeks before Zhuzha could leave the veterinarian with the necessary heart medication to help her heal.

A new beginning

Finally the day arrived when Zhuzha was allowed to go to a new home, perhaps her first ever.

In her foster home, she looked very different with a normal belly.

Although still timid and scared, Zhuzha met other dogs, enjoyed delicious meals and nestled on her new bed.

Gratitude for the rescuers

Zhuzha's life was saved thanks to the kind people of the rescue organization.

They played a crucial role in freeing her from her tough life on the streets and continue to care for her during her recovery.

Zhuzha will stay with her foster family until she finds her forever home, a place full of love and care.
