Stray dog who couldn't look her rescuers in the eye experiences love for the first time 1

Ellie is a puppy who had a very difficult life growing up.

Her young days were tough as she roamed the streets, looking for shelter and fighting for scraps to survive.

But Ellie's life was about to change.

A glimmer of hope

One fine day, Ellie's luck changed. She was rescued and taken to a shelter, a place that felt a little strange to the young pup.

Ellie had never slept in a warm bed before and needed time to get used to the loving environment that surrounded her.

One family finds Ellie

A nice couple, Suzanne Perez and Dillion James, decided it was time to expand their family.

They visited the shelter hoping to find a loyal dog they could take home.

As soon as they met Ellie, they knew she was the perfect match.

The journey home

The couple decided to adopt Ellie. During the car ride home, Ellie felt a little unsure of what was happening, so she was quite withdrawn.

But as the miles passed, a sense of security began to settle in her heart.

Ellie's new life

Although Ellie needed some time to get used to her new family, she soon felt safe and loved.

"When we first took her out of the car, she just sat on the ground and refused to move. She sat with her back in the corner the first day and didn't move" Susanne Perez told us.

The couple knew they had to take it easy on Ellie because of her traumatic start in life.

Slowly but surely, Ellie's true character began to emerge.

Ellie was no longer a reserved and scared puppy, but turned into a happy dog.

Ellie's playful adventures

Now Ellie spends her days running around, playing and cuddling not only with her humans but also with her new cat brother.

The once confused dog now basks in the warmth of a loving home, where every day is an adventure full of joy.
