Sweet Dog Who Spent A Long Time In The Shelter Is Happy He Was Finally Adopted 1

Chole was a frightened puppy staying at an animal shelter in Los Angeles. She spent her days hiding in a dark corner, afraid to look people in the eye.

Shira of Animal Rescue Mission (A.R.M.) knew she had to help Chole.

"If she stayed in that dark corner of the shelter any longer, she wouldn't make it," Shira said.

Chole rescue

Shira realized that her friend Darvish could be the perfect person to make Chole happy again.

One day, Shira, Darvish and other Animal Rescue Mission staff went to the shelter.

Getting Chole out of her corner was not easy.

"Darvish and I walked her outside and she didn't want to walk because she was so scared," Shira said.

But eventually they managed to get the terrified puppy into the car.

A long car ride

The drive to Chole's new home was very difficult for her. After so much time in the asylum, the outside world was overwhelming.

"She was so upset in the back seat that Shira had to sit next to her to calm her down," Darvish said.

Slowly but surely, Chole began to show love to her new friend Shira, even though she was still shy.

A new home

When they arrived at the house, Chole was again afraid to leave the car.

So many changes in one day felt impossible for the former shelter dog.

But Shira encouraged her, knowing that Chole needed to be brave and step out of her "comfort zone" for a better life.

Finally, sweet Chole took her first steps into her new home.

A tie-in with Darvish

The first thing Chole did in the new house was find a new corner to hide in.

Shira knew Darvish was the perfect person to help Chole:

"He was full of compassion and understood that the process was slow, but that together they would reach the goal."

Darvish gave Chole the time and space she needed. A few days later, he joined her in the corner.

Chole slowly opened up and finally accepted food from Darvish's hand.

On the 5th day, everything changed. Chole no longer wanted to leave Darvish.

She followed him everywhere, her tail wagging with love and appreciation for her new best friend.

Finally, Shira said with a happy tear:

"They really are soulmates and they absolutely cannot live without each other."

She had given Chole an incredible new life full of love.
