Woman Adopts Old Dog And Discovers It's Her Dog That She Had To Give Up Before
After being forced to part with her dog Chloe years ago, Nicole Grimes always wondered how she was doing.
She was only 14 years old when she had to end their friendship.
Her love for the dog, however, never faded. Seven years later, Nicole has her own family, a husband and an adorable daughter.
One day she came across a post on her Facebook that reminded her of Chloe.
Beloved friend of Nicole
When Nicole was just 10 years old, her grandmother surprised her with a very nice gift - a tiny, fluffy puppy named Chloe.
The moment they met, Nicole immediately fell in love with Chloe. Because Nicole was an only child, she considered Chloe her little sister.
A difficult goodbye
Nicole and Chloe spent four wonderful years together. But when Nicole turned 14, her father got a new job that required a quiet home with no distractions.
Chloe was a little too loud and barky, so Nicole had to say goodbye to her dear friend in tears .
Chloe was relinquished to the Washington Area Humane Society in Pennsylvania. Nicole's heart was broken, but she hoped Chloe would find a new loving home.
Seven years went by
Time flew by and Nicole grew up. She got married and had a beautiful baby.
Scrolling through her Facebook one day, a post that brought back old memories caught her eye.
It was about a senior dog named Chloe who needed a new home.
The dog's description said her name was Chloe and she was 11 years old - just as old as Nicole's Chloe would be now! Moreover, the dog in the photo looked so much like her long-lost friend.
Without giving it much thought, Nicole decided to adopt the dog.
The new Chloe was sweet, loving and playful, even though she was older. She behaved exactly as Nicole remembered.
A familiar lick
When Nicole brought home her new dog Chloe, she started licking her the same way the old Chloe had. It was as if she had never left. Nicole was convinced that this dog looked a lot like her childhood friend.
But to make absolutely sure, she took Chloe to Clover Farm Veterinary Services in Fredericktown, Pennsylvania.
Chloe's microchip was scanned and the truth was revealed. It was her lost dog from her childhood, Chloe!
"That was one of the greatest memories of my life," Nicole says.
A joyous reunion
Nicole and Chloe were finally reunited after seven long years. Chloe met Nicole's husband and their infant daughter and they became a happy family. Even though so much time had passed, the bond between Nicole and Chloe was stronger than ever.
